Wilson Chandler of the Knicks scored 31 points, while Amare Stoudemire and Raymond Felton each added 28 of their own to the score. New York started the game with an NBA-high average of 107.2 points per game. “We like to feel like we can match up with the best of them,” said Stoudemire. “So we feel like we’re right there, but we’ve got to play with some consistency and keep going all year.”
The Dallas Mavericks forward Caron Butler is out for the rest of the season because of knee surgery for a rupture to his right patellar tendon. Butler sustained the injury during Saturday’s game against Milwaukee, which Dallas lost 99-87. The exact statement was “He is expected to miss the remainder of the season.” Before his injury, Butler was averaging 15 points and 4.1 rebounds in 29 games.
