Lakers vs Bobcats; Spurs vs Nets

Los Angeles’s Lakers ended their game against the Charlotte Bobcats with a devastating loss of 109-89. The game followed close behind the Lakers 89-75 defeat to the Orlando Magic. Head coach Phil Jackson was furious with the game results.

“I just have this to say: we’re very disappointed in our performance tonight, we’re embarrassed about what we did, and that’s it,” he told reporters after the game.

The Bobcats’ forward Gerald Wallace scored 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Gerald Henderson added 18 points of his own. On the Lakers, Kobe Bryant scored 20 points as well, but missed 12 out of 20 field goals, and Pau Gasol finished the game with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The San Antonia Spurs are maintaining their successful road trip, and have added a 102-85 victory over the New Jersey Nets to their list. Manu Ginobili returned to the starting line scoring 22 points, and Tim Duncan contributed 15 points and 11 rebounds. The Spurs have the best record in the league; 46-9.

“On the road you play those teams, you know you’re supposed to win,” said Tony Parker, point guard for San Antonio. “It’s very important to jump on them and start aggressive and make sure you get an early lead.” Parker had 13 points and 7 assists.
